Our Wider Offer
Curriculum Enrichment at Trenance Learning Academy
Children learn best through first-hand experiences and educational visits provide them with this opportunity. Class trips take place frequently and are linked to our curriculum. To support pupils to feel rooted in their communities, Trenance offers the Community Classroom - our extra classroom!
To enhance our Adventures in Learning Curriculum, all pupils at Trenance attend Community Classroom sessions. These lessons celebrate the coastline that we are lucky enough to live beside, the rich culture and heritage of our seaside town as well as teaching children the importance of beach safety and supporting the work of the RNLI.

The TLA Troops are a unique pupil voice group for the children and young people of Service personnel and veterans headed up by our TLA Troop Commander (herself a child of service personnel).
The children are be able to access and attend our weekly club in school and our Troop Commander has established strong links with the Youth Worker at RAF St Mawgan.
We know about the unique needs, through circumstance, of our military children and will be making easily accessible resources that children, their families and staff can use to support them. The children are young advocates for Service and veterans’ families. Most importantly, they are friends for each other, providing strength and support especially in times of need.
TLA Troops ensure all military children get fair and consistent support within Trenance Learning Academy, for all circumstances and however many times they move schools.
