Welcome to our wonderful school! Trenance Learning Academy is located in the heart of Newquay, close to the beaches and harbour. Our school has up to 360 children between the ages of 4 and 7 years experiencing consistently great teaching, immersive experiences, and a safe happy environment. We have made a commitment to ensuring that every child in our school has the best start in education so that they can be happy and successful.
In 2018 we were designated by the Minister for School Standards as an English Hub, one of only 34 in the country and the only one in Cornwall. As an English Hub we support over 150 schools in the teaching of early reading. We are fortunate to have an excellent team of teachers and support staff who help ensure that teaching, learning, behaviour and safety are the best they can be for our children, families and staff.
As the largest infant school in Cornwall, we recognise the importance of early childhood education and make it our mission to ensure that every child leaves us able to read, write, be a good friend, and have a wide knowledge of our world and a deep love of learning. Our Trust Core Shared Values and our Trust’s Philosophy of ‘work hard, be honest & help others’ reflect this goal.
