Working Together to Safeguard Children

We all have the right be safe all of the time

All paid and unpaid staff are aware of their duty to Safeguard and promote the welfare of children as defined in the guidance:

• protecting children from maltreatment;

• preventing impairment of children's health or development;

• ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care; and

• taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.

All paid and unpaid staff understand and are briefed on their duty under section 11 of the Children Act 2004 to ensure that they consider the need to safeguard and promote the welfare of children when carrying out their functions.

Under section 10 of the same Act, that robust cooperation should exist and be effective at all levels of the organisation, from strategic level through to operational delivery; how to access this service, the important of information sharing and the 7 golden rules, focusing on the needs and views of the child and adhering to the childcare Act 2006 which include completing a disclaimer under the disqualification by association.
